A case study of sand play therapy of a female student admitted to a shelter house

Abstract

|
This study shows a case of sand play therapy for a female student who has been abused by her father physically and sexually, neglected by her mother, and is eventually admitted to a shelter house. The client has weak mind and low self-esteem. To set up the objectives of the therapy, some psychological tests and 24 sand play therapy sessions have been conducted. According to the results of the therapy, the client changed a negative image of parents, recovered physical trauma of sexual abuse, and improved her self-esteem. Finally, this study is discussed through Korean fork tale .
